Water Conservation
We provide designs and limited construction services for new and retrofitted irrigation systems that encourage and promote conservation of water resources. We have experience with the design and construction of recycled and reclaimed water, rain harvest, onsite storage and supply systems. We rely on over 20 years of experience, our training through the Irrigation Association, other affiliations and the latest in irrigation technology to provide our clients with highly efficient irrigation solutions. Among the most valuable tools at our disposal is a site water management program that will effectively determine the financial cycle and viability of effective irrigation solutions.
Vegetation/Fuel Management
Many of our clients are required or want to provide defensible space and maintenance standards for fire prevention of structures and properties. We have worked with many fire districts throughout the North Bay and have effectively provided reports, plans and maintenance standards that demonstrate wildfire suppression and safety.
Functional Spaces
Creative spaces that reflect and promote functional environments are and have been a primary focus for us. Regardless whether the space is a residential, commercial or public space, we develop ways to incorporate active and passive facilities with creativity and innovation. We have maximized the use of landscape with projects that include sport facilities, tot lots, plazas, trails, crops, vineyards, vegetable gardens, compost areas, workshops, outdoor dining, pizza ovens and fire pits.
Energy Conservation
Through site analysis, site programming, design and construction we will provide our clients and/or stakeholders energy efficient environments as well as user comfort. Depending on the desired comfort effect for cooling or heating, we will incorporate heat island reduction or passive solar measures. Orientation of spaces and buildings, implementation of tree cover and reduction of non reflective surfaces are several examples of how that will be explored. These natural systems would reduce or eliminate the ongoing need for mechanical energy sources.
Local Materials
Whenever practical we will provide designs to our clients that reflect the use of high quality materials and products which are manufactured and sold locally. Reduction in material shipping costs will reflect a financial benefit for our clients.
Habitat
Protection, preservation, restoration and creation of habitat and natural systems are important elements for our clients and the environment.
Maintenance
With the benefit of an earlier career in landscape construction and landscape maintenance, we are able to recognize the life cycle of a developed site and its environment during the design and implementation phase of a project. We encourage and engage our clients to participate in the forecasting of realistic maintenance goals and expectations throughout the life of the developed site.
Site Analysis/Feasibility Studies
We will provide and/or coordinate the complete research, analysis, and synthesis of a site in order to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the environment associated to a specific project. A comprehensive understanding of site allows for a highly efficient and effective advancement of the design and construction process. Furthermore it is often widely recognized, accepted and required for complex projects by jurisdictional agencies that we have worked with.
Conceptual/Preliminary Design
We will coordinate and facilitate the site analysis, feasibility studies, client objectives, agency requirements and provide a conceptual and/or preliminary design direction usually in the form of site plans, renderings, sections, elevations and 3d “sketch-up” modeling. Presentations and community outreach is included and considered very important to the positive direction of a project. We will rely on our experience and relationships with builders and contractors to provide estimates and opinions of probable costs.
Construction Documents
We provide full service construction documentation for residential, commercial, public, institutional and corporate projects. Our design documents include Site Plans, Layout Plans, Dimension Plans, Grading and Drainage Plans, Irrigation plans, Planting Plans, Exterior Lighting Plans, Construction details and Construction specifications.
Master Planning
We will provide master planning services for larger or more complex projects. Our clients often utilize master plans for strategic implementation and sequencing of a project.
Design/Build
We have an active C27 Landscape Contractor’s license and are fully bonded. We have the ability to provide design /build services to our residential and small commercial clients.
Reports
Report writing for agency approval will be provided.
Consultation/Plan Check Review
We will perform consultation and plan check review for different clients including city and county government agencies as well as private clients. Client references will be made available upon request.
